Hagai Thomas Attias is the CEO of
Golden Metallic, Inc.
Previously, he held research positions at top academic and corporate labs. He has
(co)authored over 60 scientific publications on machine learning theory and its
applications in speech and audio processing, machine vision, and biomedical imaging.
He has 9 issued patents and 10 more pending.
Dr. Attias was a research scientist at
Microsoft Research in Redmond,
WA, working at the machine
learning & applied statistics group. Several of his inventions at Microsoft
were incorporated into the speech recognition engine now shipping in
Windows Vista. Prior to that, he was a
Sloan postdoctoral fellow
at the University of California, San
Francisco. At UCSF he did some of the
pioneering work on machine learning algorithms for audio analysis and source separation.
Dr. Attias received his PhD in
theoretical physics from
Yale. In his thesis, he created statistical models that
successfully predicted electronic transport properties of a broad class
of mesoscopic systems.
